Working Task Groups

Adult Social Care Group

The Social Care group is concerned with Adult Social Care Services and is the key group in the LINK for developing productive relationships with Adult Social Care Commissioners and Providers


  • To identify issues and concerns about local adult social care services
  • To work to encourage the Local Authority to look at more preventative models of support
  • To clarify what adult social care services are funded by the Local Authority, what are funded by the local NHS and what is jointly funded
  • To put pressure on the Local Authority to ensure that people who want access to respite care services know how to do so and are able to
  • Ensure that the LINk feeds into local and national consultations about adult social care

C-LINk Working Group

This group is for the Chinese community in South Gloucestershire to have a voice in the LINk and its aims are


  • To raise awareness of the Chinese Communities Health and Adult Social Care needs
  • To influence and enhance the quality of Health and Adult Social Care Services
  • To improve access to Health and Adult Social Care information for the Chinese Community
  • To bridge the gap between the service providers and the Chinese community in South Gloucestershire

The next meeting of this group is on Thursday November 3rd from 12.30pm until 2.30pm at Jubilee Centre, Savages Wood Road BS32 8HL

Transition Group

The role of this group is to ensure that the transition from LINk to local Healthwatch is smooth and effective. The group has also taken on the responsibilities of overseeing the finances, communications and Governance of the LINk as it goes through its transition year.  Everyone is welcome.

Health Services Working Group

This group is focusing on Health services including community and hospital based.


  • To focus on highlighting equality of access to services for all equalities groups and communities, and to ensure that health services operate in a culturally aware and appropriate manner
  • To ensure health services meet the specific needs of people with complex health conditions when they are being treated
  • To highlight the need for better access to chiropody services

The next meeting is on Tuesday November 15th from 10am until 12pm; Christchurch Health Centre

NEW! Learning Difficulties Working Task Group

This group is for People with Learning Difficulties and will focus on the barriers, challenges and issues faced by People with Learning Difficulties when accessing and using Health and Adult Social Care Services

The next meeting of this group is yet to be arranged

Mental Health Services Group

The Mental Health Services Group is focusing in the provision of all mental health services; this could include Primary Care Mental Health Services, local implementation of the Dementia Strategy and Autism Plan, services for 0lder People with Mental Health issues other than Dementia and support for Carers.
